Carl Stone
A 1988 graduate in product design from Manchester Polytechnic. Carl worked as a product designer for RDA before becoming a director in 1996.
Carl's significant achievements include his involvement in the security product industry, creating a range of products for a multi award winning security manufacturer, establishing a working relationship that stretches back to 1992.
In that period the company has grown from a handful of employees to a major force in the security industry.
His interests include 70s Soul and he is also a keen runner. Carl is Lucid's 3D CAD expert and focuses on the form and branding of new products.
Alistair Williamson
A 1987 graduate in 3D design from Sheffield Polytechnic. Alistair started his career as a product designer in consultancy and for a toy manufacturer . He became head industrial designer in a games company, where he completed a part time MBA. Alistair is a Chartered Engineer and Marketer and founded Blueprint (one of the companies that merged to create Lucid Group) in 1996. Alistair focuses on research.
Alistair's significant achievements include Safebox, the Royal Mail's secure system for posting diagnostic specimens. The Safebox design received the Institute of Packaging 's Starpack Gold in 2003.
Andrew Hodgin
A 1988 graduate in industrial design from Teesside Polytechnic. Andrew went on to work in consultancy, prior to taking a Masters in Design at the Royal College of Art.
After the RCA Andy worked as a product design consultant in Japan . He then created signage for London Underground's Jubilee Line extension and as the head designer for major furniture manufacturer before joining Blueprint (one of the companies that merged to create Lucid Group).
Andy is most proud of his work for Photo Therapeutics. Revolutionary cancer and cosmetic treatment products he has designed are marketed in every continent.
Andy is an Aikido instructor, black belt graded to the level of third Dan.
Accolades include the Institute of Packaging 's Starpack Gold, for Lucid's work on Royal Mail Safebox and numerous other commendations including the Design Effectiveness and Roses Design Awards.
We normally work on fixed price contracts, splitting projects into logical stages with clearly defined objectives, deliverables and requirements.
Lucid Group is entirely self financed and free of debt. We are serious about continual business improvement and to help the company has been accredited to ISO 9001 - 2000 since it's formation. Lucid Group is an accredited consultant to several UK Business Links

Lucid Group was formed in 2002, on merger of two established design consultancy businesses , Blueprint and RDA. Our people are industrial designers, structural packaging designers and innovation consultants.
We specialise in helping our clients develop ideas for new products. Our team also delivers practical product design and production management, with particular experience effective l y communicating brands.
